I am so sorry I shouldn't have remarked on the weather maybe we should keep our wellies at Poppets for a while ??

Instead of out Toddle Waddle today we had an indoor picnic and learnt about ducks, we made duck hats, paper plate ducks, found out that ducks use oil to keep their feathers waterproof, their webbed feet are a little like flippers and they don't wear goggles for going under water but we do ! Then we designed an indoor beach.... great day!!

Summer is here

I do hope I am not being too optimistic but wow what great weather this week!

Poppets children have been out and about hunting for mini beasts with magnifying glasses and bug boxes to collect our finds all bugs returned to their natural habitat of course.  We have made Pirate ships from boxes  as well as creating with junk modelling materials to make rockets, telescopes and pasta shakers. 
We have had a great time playing with play dough, bark and diggers and lots of painting too!

SPORTS MORNING

Hi All 

looks like the weather is going to be kind and our sports day can go ahead

sadly I cannot be with you tomorrow as am currently unwell....48hr rule applies to us all!!

will be thinking of you all and know Lisa, Rachel and the team will make it a fun morning, please remember there is no p.m Poppets session

Fire Station Fun

A BIG thank you to Lisa for arranging a great trip to the Fire Station last Wednesday good fun was had by all!  This week we have been making our own fire engines from big boxes. Lots of red paint and planning skills involved to create ladders, lights and hoses. We have enjoyed experimenting in our water play using plastic tubing and have  observed our caterpillars change into  chrysalis.

Trip to Fire Station

Our week

What a busy week we have had..
On Monday morning Poppets children looked at the Hungry Caterpillar book, wrote shopping lists and went off to the market to buy all the fruit that the caterpillar ate over the week to have for our snacks. In the afternoon we made caterpillars from tissue circles.
On Tuesday we made bread as a reminder of the Little Red Hen Story. We discovered that yeast  and warmth makes the bread rise and although it takes a long time to cook it is worth waiting for. we made a ...

Our week at Poppets

Thank you for all your kind comments about our lovely updated room!
We have been making the most of having washable flooring with lots of messy activities to start off the summer term.
 
Poppets children have enjoyed role playing the story of the little red hen this week planting seeds in soil, using flour to mark make and the play-dough to knead and "cook"  bread.  Your children were able to tell us the names of lots of different bread types.The one we liked best was Tesco bread for the freezer...
